The Requirements

The Role
Reporting to two regional Vice Presidents, you will ensure that the San Leandro branch is running efficiently and effectively and that personnel are working to their potential. The current staff includes a Traffic Control Supervisor, two Sales Representatives, a Customer Service Representative, Plan Drawer, and Traffic Technicians who do field repairs and are responsible for equipment maintenance. Quick question for you - click hereAs General Manager, your mission will be to showcase your consultative outside sales savvy as you mentor your team and aggressively drive sales to help us meet and exceed our sales targets. Specifically, you will:
- Create and execute the branch sales plan.
- Assist in creating individual sales plans for each of the Sales Representatives you supervise.
- Ensure pipeline building.
- Work and travel to appointments with the Sales Representatives, coaching and mentoring them on sales and closing skills.
- Work directly with large clients, building relationships and selling/up-selling.
- Actively working to increase sales with the goal of doubling sales over the next 12 months.
- Coordinate with the sales staff to insure that what was promised is delivered.
- Approve customer quotes, bids, and special pricing through senior management.
- Comply with all company and government regulatory programs that pertain to our business.
- Develop and manage the branch budget.
- Work closely with the Operations Supervisor regarding the staff and day-to-day operations.
- Ensure that all equipment is maintained, repaired, and ready to rent, and that proper tracking and documentation is maintained. Documentation will include branch vehicle records such as service schedules, inspections and repairs.
- Handle all initial safety investigations.
- Purchase supplies, parts, and outsourced repairs and maintenance; sign and approve POs.
- Work closely with HR and recruit, hire, and train staff; ensure staff development; team building; discipline and rewards.
- May schedule work for drivers when not dispatched, as well as other employees.
- Complete accurate rental product inventory counts, report counts and arrange for the return of damaged equipment and products.
- Review logistics and workflow for the branch, coordinating with other Traffic Solutions branches to maintain and share inventory as customer needs warrant.
